LVT Flooring in Bristol: How Vinyl Shaped a New Headquarters

Commercial Vinyl Flooring

Location

Bristol

This Bristol office and warehouse started with a worn, uneven floor – a space with untapped potential. Our role was to provide a level and durable foundation that supported a wider fit out, creating an incredible space that would be our client’s main headquarters for their UK operations.

The Challenge: Tackling Uneven Flooring

When the appointed commercial fit out contractors approached us, the office and warehouse space was far from ready. The existing floors were uneven and worn, making it impossible to proceed with the wider fit out. The challenge was to therefore create a durable, level surface, as well as smart office flooring that could withstand the demands of a busy headquarters.

The project required multiple types of flooring for different parts of the office. We needed to specify the correct materials that could fit with the project timeline and larger fit out design.

Timing and coordination were also important. Our work needed to align with the contractor’s schedule so the office, kitchen and bathroom floors would be ready before other finishes were installed. Every decision needed to balance practicality, longevity and appearance to ensure the new office floors could perform under heavy daily use and complement the vision of a modern, professional workplace.

The Solution: Smoothed and Strong Floors

We began by applying a high quality smoothing compound to the existing surface to address the existing, uneven flooring. This created a level, stable base to ensure the LVT (luxury vinyl tiles) and vinyl flooring installation was durable, even under heavy, daily use.

The Main Office

For the heart of the workplace, we chose warm, wood-effect LVT flooring. It captures the elegance of natural timber while offering the durability, easy maintenance and high traffic performance needed in a busy office. The result is a professional environment that feels premium without the high cost and upkeep of real wood.

The Kitchen and Bathrooms

For the kitchen and bathroom areas, we specified vinyl flooring. There were many reasons for this, with some of the main benefits being:

  • Slip Resistance – Vinyl offers a safe, slip-resistant surface which is particularly important in these environments where spills are more likely. It helps to reduce accidents and ensure staff and visitors can move around confidently.
  • Hygiene – The surface of this material is easy to clean and maintain, helping to keep the areas sanitary. In communal spaces, this is essential for creating a hygienic environment that meets both practical and regulatory standards.
  • Durability –  Kitchens and bathrooms experience high foot traffic and frequent movement of equipment or furniture. Vinyl’s robust construction ensures the flooring remains intact and looks great even under constant use.
  • Easy Cleaning – Vinyl is quick and easy to clean, meaning maintenance can be done efficiently and without disrupting daily operations. This allows the client to keep their HQ looking professional at all times.

This Bristol office started as a worn, dilapidated space. Working alongside the fit out contractors, we were able to prepare and install smart flooring solutions that stand up to daily use, support the client’s team and tie the whole office together – from workstations to the kitchen.
